We are seeking compassionate and reliable Personal Services Caregivers to provide exceptional personal care and support to individuals who require assistance with their daily tasks. As a Personal Services Caregiver, your role will primarily revolve around assisting clients with their personal hygiene, mobility, medication reminders, and other activities of daily living. You will be an essential part of ensuring their health, comfort, and overall well-being.
Responsibilities:
- Provide personalized, compassionate, and high-quality care to clients in accordance with their individual care plans, preferences, and comfort levels.
- Assist clients with personal hygiene tasks, including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and maintaining oral hygiene.
- Support clients with mobility by assisting with transfers, ambulation, and the use of mobility aids as required.
- Ensure adherence to medication schedules.
- Assist with meal preparation, feeding, and monitoring dietary requirements to ensure clients' nutritional needs are met.
- Assist in light housekeeping tasks, such as laundry, tidying up living spaces, and maintaining a clean and safe environment for the client.
- Accompany clients to medical appointments, errands, and social activities if required.
- Monitor and report any changes in clients' physical and mental health to the appropriate healthcare professionals or family members.
- Foster positive and supportive relationships with clients, promoting independence and dignity while providing emotional support and companionship.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of daily activities, care provided, and observations.
- Act as an advocate for the client, ensuring their rights, preferences, and dignity are respected and promoted at all times.
- Adhere to all legal and ethical standards and policies related to personal caregiving and maintain the utmost confidentiality regarding client information.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum of 10 years' experience with the elderly or disabled.
- CNA license preferred.
- CPR and First Aid certification is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of providing personal care, including tasks related to hygiene and mobility.
- Compassionate and empathetic nature, with a genuine desire to help others.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients, their families, and the healthcare team.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, manage time efficiently, and maintain attention to detail.
- Reliable and punctual with the ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and infection control practices.
- Ability to lift, bend, and stand for long periods, as well as perform physical tasks related to personal care assistance.
- Valid driver's license, proof of insurance and reliable personal transportation.
