JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assure the quality of mining and construction equipment and components.
- Support industrial part production and processes.
- Responsible for failure analysis of parts returned from customers as well as qualifying parts based off their metallurgical specifications and requirements.
- Support process engineering, design, manufacturing, and quality teams focused on root cause corrective actions found from the failure analysis and part qualifications.
- Support a world class manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, which maintains an ISO accredited certified quality environment.
- Various lab responsibilities including metallography, microscopy, fractography, non-destructive evaluation, SEM/EDS analysis and interpretation, mechanical testing including tensile and Charpy testing, hardness testing and various other aspects of destructive testing.
- Part or project identification, Material management, Print interpretation, Test plan development, Nondestructive evaluation, Destructive evaluation and testing, Documentation, and Communication.
- Work with laboratory, internal quality engineers, external suppliers and customers.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s degree in metallurgical or materials science engineering with 3 years’ experience.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Fractography experience.
- Microscopy experience.
- Metallography experience.
- Non-Destructive Evaluation Experience.
- Mechanical Testing experience.
- Hardness Testing experience.
- SEM / EDS experience.
- Microsoft Office experience.
SOFT SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Decision Making and Critical Thinking skills.
