The primary responsibility of the Product Manager is to oversee various tasks such as new product launches, maintenance, project management, product information management, developing and executing product operations processes, Voice-of-Technician feedback, and pricing. In collaboration with product line management, marketing, brand management, and engineering, the Product Manager will function within a shared service model.

Job Summary
The primary responsibility of the Product Manager is to oversee various tasks such as new product launches, maintenance, project management, product information management, developing and executing product operations processes, Voice-of-Technician feedback, and pricing. In collaboration with product line management, marketing, brand management, and engineering, the Product Manager will function within a shared service model.
Essential Duties
- Collaborates with relevant Product Line Managers to synthesize market, customer, and competitive requirements to develop and manage the product roadmap to align with company goals and market demands.
- Collaborates with engineering and 3 rd party technology providers to manage technology projects supporting the product solutions, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Develops comprehensive programs plans, outlining the scope, objectives, timelines, and resources required.
- Coordinates cross-functional departments to ensure that all aspects of the program are aligned.
- Allocates resources efficiently to ensure the successful completion of projects.
- Manages budgets and expenditures, ensuring financial efficiency.
- Identifies potential risks and develops mitigation strategies.
- Product Management
- Oversees the day-to-day aspects of the product lifecycle, which involves product maintenance tasks such as SKU rationalization, PIM data integrity, and website copy updates.
- Provides management support for the launch of new products (NPI).
- Assist Product Line Managers (PLMs) in developing product strategies through primary and secondary research, competitive analysis, and other support.
- Performs product performance analysis.
- Conducts training for all products.
- Project Management
- Implements the project management practices within the Project Operations team.
- Handles new products, including line extensions.
- Supervises Design-To-Value projects.
- Sustains existing products.
- Creates and enforces best practices, templates, and training.
- Establishes top-tier project management practices within the team.
- Voice-of-Technician (VOT)
- Develops and maintains a continuous pipeline of technicians for engagement purposes.
- Conducts VOT interviews and ride-alongs (field and telephone).
- Institutionalizes VOT insights to support decision-making in various areas (product development, brand/channel marketing, sales).
- Analyzes and documents findings.
- Prepares technicians for collaboration with other departments like Product Line Managers, Engineering, Brand and Channel Marketing, technical support and more.
- Product Operations Process
- Manages the development and deployment of the Stage-Gate process, demonstrating best practices, training, and adherence.
- Establishes a framework for Product Management requirements documentation.
- Conducts Portfolio Planning Management, overseeing the product selection process.
- Organizes the quarterly “Product Day” meeting.
- Provides regular reports on the vitality metric.
- Master Data Management (MDM)
- Collaborates with the MDM Process leader to establish guidelines for data governance, new item setup/maintenance workflows, and use case development within our Product Information Management (PIM) system.
- Executes various business processes, such as PIM.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Skills, Abilities and Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field
- 7 - 10 years of experience in product management and/or project management
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or similar computer software
- Experience working in a fast paced and high-volume work environment
- Proactive “self-starter” with a strong attention to detail
- Proficient in developing business cases suggesting specific product requirements and market potential
- Demonstrates a results-oriented approach
- Ability to work with a sense of urgency and under deadlines with accuracy
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, enabling effective interaction with employees on all levels, including executive leadership
- Master’s in Business Administration
- Pricing experience
- HVACR experience
- Knowledge of IOT product development and management
