Outstanding Opportunity for a Front Desk Receptionist at a LGBTQ Primary Care Internal Medicine Practice!
JOIN OUR TEAM! Diversity Health Center seeks an experienced part-time receptionist. We are looking for someone with a great attitude, patient skills and solid prior experience. We seek a team member who is detail oriented, strong at multi-tasking and dedicated to high quality care delivery.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
- Experience as a Medical Receptionist in an outpatient Medical Practice
- Experience scheduling appointments, checking patients in and out, collecting copays and patient balances, referrals, pre-certification and insurance verification.
- Working knowledge of HIPAA guidelines.
- Knowledge of medications and medical terminology, including those related to HIV, STI and transgender care
- Ability to answer the telephone in a professional manner and provide callers with details of the nature of our practice, relay clinical messages to the other staff or explain payment options
- Outstanding customer service skills (both telephone and in person) with a positive, friendly attitude
- Ability to multitask effectively
- Strong computer knowledge and experience with electronic medical records and data entry
- Keeping medical office supplies stocked as well as medical supplies.
- Billing experience is a plus, but not required

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- At least two years of front-desk medical office receptionist experience required
- Experience as a Medical Assistance is ideal
- Knowledge of medical terminology and human anatomy
- Skilled in operating electronic medical record (EMR) software and hardware, word-processing, and database software programs; our EMR is PrognoCIS by Bizmatics
- Excellent phone and patient interaction skills
- Phlebotomy skills preferred
- Experience in working with the needs of the LGBTQ communities, including knowledge of terminology and medications associated with HIV, STI’s and transgender hormonal treatments
POSITION OFFERS:
- Part-Time Hours: Monday-Fridays 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM
