CNC Mechanical and Electrical Technician
Full-Time | Location: West Columbia, SC
A growing industrial operation is seeking an experienced CNC Mechanical and Electrical Technician to join our team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for performing general and complex repairs on CNC-controlled and PLC-controlled machines in a high-paced, continuous process manufacturing environment.
We’re looking for a hands-on, technically sound technician with the ability to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair a variety of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform repairs and maintenance on CNC and manual machines, as well as PLC-controlled systems.
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics to diagnose and repair equipment.
- Utilize skills in pneumatics, hydraulics, bearings, power transmission, and lubrication.
- Apply electrical/electronic knowledge to work with PLCs, A/C & D/C motors and drives, and various wiring systems.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment and identify hazards or areas needing attention.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions; develop repair plans and execute effectively.
- Perform major electrical repairs from 480V systems to component-level fixes.
- Use testing devices such as voltmeters, oscilloscopes, and ohmmeters.
- Install wiring and conduit for machinery and cranes.
- Provide input on equipment lifecycle, upgrades, and capacity improvements.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance work and materials used.
- Follow NFPA 70E safety regulations and maintain a strong safety culture.
- Possess personal tools necessary to complete daily tasks.
Basic Qualifications:
- Associate's degree or 2 years of Electrical Trade School.
- Military training in electrical systems (Navy or Air Force) is a plus.
- Familiarity with standard shop math.
- 7–10 years of experience troubleshooting and maintaining CNC machines with live tooling.
- 10 years of experience with Haas, Doosan, and/or Mazak machines.
- 5 years of general industrial maintenance experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 10 years of electrical maintenance experience.
- Relevant electrician certification or license.
- Familiarity with National Electric Code (NEC).
- Doosan/Mazak/Haas training or certification.
- Crane inspection certification is a plu
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.00 - $32.00 per hour
