Job Description
- This is an entry level position. Client will train someone completely how to do this job. 50% of this role involves tracking, 50% is hands on.
- No previous experience is needed, but a Bachelors or Associates in a Technical field is required (Chemistry, Biology, is best - anything that exposed the candidate to basic lab skills, mathematics, measurements, etc).
- Microsoft proficiency is required. Soft skills are critical : Ability to analyze data, good communication skills, ability to work with a team, organizational skills, able to multi-task and work in different areas.
Purpose and Scope of Position :
The primary responsibility, as a lab specialist, is equipment scheduling and working with a team of union process technicians (PTs) in the CSM Ion Exchange (IOX) labs. Prospective candidate will be responsible for tracking expenses, identifying / documenting system improvements, and participating in developing strategies for a growing technology.Key responsibly is meeting project and internal customer demands and supporting development goals. They will manage use of chemicals in the labs, participate in the qualifying new chemicals, and ensure safety protocol is followed in the labs. They will participate in medium to high level projects as assigned, while ensuring confidentiality of information.They will be responsible for trainings with new employees and educating internal customers on request system usage. Assists in trouble shooting material, process and equipment issues, identifies root cause, and help to implement corrective action. Other responsibilities include maintaining a healthy work environment.Major Roles and Responsibilities :
Specialist Responsibilities (Rotational) : Schedule resources and prioritizes activities to assure efficient delivery of customer samples, experiments, new product runs, training, and maintenance activities. Provides daily direction and communications to union process technicians.Logistics Related : Tracking expenses, Training team members, developing training documents, etc. Leading research and selection of lab supplies, etc.Data Analysis Use PI vision to monitor furnaces, analyze metrology results to understand the request inputs verses IOX results. Relate metrology results to process conditions.5S Responsibilities Assist in all 5S efforts for compliance in all 5 labs. Ensure that the 5S requirements are completed weekly.Documentation Assist in editing and manage Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) documents and procedures in Brady 360, participate in IOX related activities via the Process Hazard Review Board for Safety Health & Environmental review / approval. Participate in creation and updates to Job Aides, SOP's, PPEHA's and JSA's as needed and as required. log documentation for Nitrate / salt transfers.Project Integration Participate on development project teams to construct and organize in the labs various DOEs and project development activities. Act as a liaison between internal customers and PTs to ensure error-free and timely DOE results deliveries.Provide coverage All aspects of IOX lab activities, metrology, as well as the pH area as needed.Troubleshooting equipment, processes, training challenges, etc.Drives continuous process improvement and cost reduction for the site while maintaining compliance to systems and product requirements.Ability to review and understand technical documents. Use scientific methods to solve lab issues.Write and execute DOEs.Will Interface with the product teams to understand critical business priorities.Maintain an understanding of the products and business goals / objectives.Minimum Knowledge and Skill Requirements
Prefer 4-year technical bachelor's degree; Require A.S. or A.A.S technical degree.Prefer experience working in a development lab / process area; not required.Strong MS Office skills, with ability to develop effective communications slide decks and spreadsheets.Strong analytical skills, including advanced MS Excel capabilities.Strong communications and interpersonal skills.Ability to work and collaborate effectively across cultures.Good teamwork skillsData analyst skillsAbility to multi-taskAbout us :
