What are the responsibilities and job description for the Direct Support Professional (DSP) position at Divine Group Management LLC?
As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities to achieve their goals, improve their quality of life, and live as independently as possible. You will assist with daily living skills, provide companionship, and support individuals in participating in community activities.
Responsibilities:
1. Assist individuals with personal care needs, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and hygiene.
2. Teach and promote independence in daily living activities such as cooking, cleaning, and budgeting.
3. Provide companionship and emotional support while fostering positive relationships.
4. Accompany individuals on community outings, medical appointments, and social activities.
5. Implement and follow individualized service plans and behavioral plans.
6. Monitor and document progress, behavior, and daily activities accurately.
7. Ensure a safe and supportive environment for individuals.
8. Collaborate with families, supervisors, and team members to deliver high-quality care and support.
Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or GED.
2. Must be at least 18 years old.
3. Ability to pass a background check and obtain a Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card.
4. Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
5. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (preferred).
6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
7. Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help others.
8. Prior experience as a caregiver, DSP, or working with individuals with disabilities is a plus (training provided).
