SALARY: $19.93 (HOURLY RATE)

Job Description: The candidate for this position will support student success by providing health care through assessment, intervention, and follow-up for all children within the school setting. The school nurse addresses the physical, mental, emotional, and social health needs of students and supports their achievement in the learning process. The candidate for this role will work to advance programs that support the well-being, academic success, and lifelong achievement and health of students. The candidate will guide and support the administration in protocols and education awareness of keeping children healthy, safe, in school, and ready to learn as their top priority for both healthcare and educational systems, and also performing other duties as assigned.
Direct Accountability and Report: Works under the supervision of the Director of Pupil Personnel who is responsible for carrying out the guidance and direction for the school division. An annual evaluation will be based upon the job description, district and personal goals and objectives specific to the school or the position, student achievement data, and the performance of the teacher.
Qualifications:
- CNA Certified
Experience:
- Minimum of three (3) years of successful, full-time Clinical Nurse Assistant experience preferred.
Duties of the clinical nurse assistant, but are not limited to, the following:

Administers first aid to students and staff for minor injuries as needed.

Assists in the maintenance of medical records and daily logs of clinic visits.

Assists with the assessment of illnesses, diseases, injuries, and certain health screenings of students and staff under the direction of professional staff.

Models nondiscriminatory practices in all activities.

Performs other related duties as assigned by school nurse or other appropriate administrators.

Reports sensitive situations and/or extensive injuries/illnesses to professional staff for further evaluation.

Utilizes the nursing components of the ESIS computer system as directed by the school nurse.

Works under protocols established by school nurse.
