Dixon is looking for a Quality Control Inspector with 3-5 years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing or production machining environment to join our team in Dallas, NC! The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring that all manufactured parts and products meet stringent quality standards and specifications through thorough inspection. The ideal candidate will be a conscientious person who will work closely with production, supply chain, engineering, and customer service teams to identify and resolve quality issues, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure the overall success of the manufacturing process.

Responsibilities Day-to-Day
Inspection: Perform regular inspections of metal components and parts using precision measuring instruments
such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and optical comparators to ensure compliance with
engineering drawings, specifications, and industry standards. Assist in maintaining quality control
instruments, such as gages and test equipment and the calibration database.
Testing: Responsible to operate the CNG Series Test cell for all production runs, while maintaining all test
records and relevant documentation.
Quality Control: Responsible for all incoming material inspections and associated vendor quality record data collection
as well as sample inspections in machining, screw machine and assembly.
Root Cause Analysis & Problem Solving: Investigate quality issues, determine root causes, and work with cross-functional teams to implement
corrective and preventive actions. Utilize tools such as 8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams, and FMEA.
Continuous Improvement: Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Kaizen.
Actively suggest process enhancements to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
Reporting & Documentation: Maintain detailed and accurate records of inspections, test results, non-conformance reports (NCR),
corrective actions, and quality performance metrics. Prepare reports for management to ensure
transparency and compliance. Presents Non-Conformance and Corrective Action updates to the Operations Team.
Collaboration: Collaborate with production teams, engineering, and suppliers to ensure that quality requirements are
clearly communicated and met at all stages of the manufacturing process.
Training & Mentorship: Provide training and guidance to production staff on quality standards, measurement techniques, and
best practices.

Competencies
- Use of measuring equipment including Optical Comparator, magnetic particle inspection, and standard equipment such as micrometers, comparators, gage blocks, calipers, radius gauges, ring and plug gauges, hardness testers, indicators, thread gauges and protractors, etc.
- Knowledge of precision machining operations. Technical understanding of machined metal industrial parts.
- Knowledge and understanding of machining operations, inspection instruments.
- Attention to detail, utilizing data analysis to support decision-making
- Math, geometry and an understanding of statistics
- Hands-on.
- A root cause approach to problem-solving.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Can use spreadsheets and office software. Familiar with ERP software.
- ISO 9001 knowledge a plus
