Key Duties:
- Commitment to comprehensive patient care and enhancing patient satisfaction
- Assisting the doctor during patient examinations and various procedures
- Facilitating ophthalmic diagnostic tests as per the physician's request while ensuring clear communication through electronic channels
- Conducting visual field assessments
- Capturing retinal images with advanced digital imagery equipment
- Executing clinical duties in accordance with established protocols
- Observance of strict infection control standards in line with safety regulations
- Inventory management for exam rooms and medical supplies replenishment
- Managing logistics for surgical procedures including pre-operative consultations, laboratory arrangements, hospital scheduling, and follow-up appointments
Position Requirements:
- Prior experience as an Ophthalmic Technician is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in computer operations is essential.
- Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems is advantageous.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong verbal communication skills coupled with excellent organizational abilities are crucial for this role.
- The capacity to work efficiently across multiple tasks is expected.
- Flexibility to travel between office locations is required based on departmental needs.
- Expertise in Manual refracting and Applanation tonometry is crucial. Retina experience preferred.
Hours:
Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm
Compensation:
The hourly wage range for this position is $17-$21 to start, depending on experience.
Preferred Experience & Education:
One year of relevant experience is preferred but not mandatory.
At least one year spent specializing as an Ophthalmic or Optometric Tech would be ideal.
A high school diploma or equivalent certification is necessary.
Work Authorization Requirement:
Eligibility to work within the United States must be established.
