Duties

• Serve as an Exercise Program Analyst for DLA Distribution J5.
• Coordinate, develop, and maintain exercise plans for DLA Distribution to provide a ready Distribution capability in peace, transition, and the full spectrum of active operational commitments including Humanitarian Aid/Disaster Relief.
• Develop and implement the exercise program and plan initiatives in support of Critical DLA Distribution missions sets and long range goals.
• Assist in the creation of the Distribution Mission Essential Task Lists (METL) for DLA Distribution to prepare the organization for adequate response in the event of a contingency.
• Represent the DLA Distribution commander for determining what exercises meet the requirements to train DLA Distribution to meet the METL.
• Plan for DLA Distribution participation in JCS/Unified/Joint/Combines/Service sponsored exercises in the regional Area of Responsibility.
• Manage creation of the long-range exercise plan, in accordance with the METL, the exercise timeline, and resources using established joint training systems.

Qualifications

To qualify for a Program Analyst, your resume and supporting documentation must support:

• Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Managing and implementing operations and programs that include exercise plans for Humanitarian, Disaster Relief, and contingency operations; Translating guidance into actionable events and milestones; Attending and participating in a variety of contingency/humanitarian, and disaster relief exercise planning conferences and meetings; and Preparing reports and maintaining records of accomplishments and administrative information and presenting the information to the supervisor.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
