Summary

DLA Piper is seeking a transactional Franchise & Distribution associate to join its practice. Ideal candidates will have 2 years of regulatory U.S. franchising experience. International franchise and M&A experience is also a plus. Candidates can work in one of our 22 offices or can work remotely. Responsibilities will include drafting various franchise-related agreements and regulatory filings (e.g., franchise disclosure documents), providing advice related to complex business transactions, and counseling domestic and international clients. Candidates should have a strong academic record, superior organizational, drafting, and analytical skills, and possess the ability to work both independently and as part of a larger team. This is an excellent opportunity to work in the top Franchise & Distribution practice (as ranked by Chambers USA) on a broad range of matters for clients in a wide variety of industries.

Represents a wide variety of clients ranging from private equity firms to start-up franchisors to some of the largest franchisors in the USA. Has a strong international presence complementing work with foreign companies franchising into the US.

Physical Demands, Work Environment, and Other Requirements

Sedentary work : Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and / or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.

Pay Transparency

The firm’s expected hiring range for this position is $295,000 - $390,000 per year depending on the candidate’s geographic market location. The compensation offered for employment will also be dependent on other factors including the candidate’s experience, skills, educational and professional background, and overall qualifications. We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including medical / dental / vision insurance, and 401(k).
