Our repeat client in Miami, Florida is seeking a full-time Assistant Facilities Manager to join their team. The position of the Assistant Facilities Manager is responsible for providing upkeep and general maintenance for private residences, including but not limited to landscaping, cleaning, and light construction. The majority of the work will typically be outdoors between properties within one location. This role reports to the construction manager.
This is generally a Monday-Friday position with regular work hours, but with the understanding that this role is on call 24/7, particularly when the principal is in residence. There will be after hours (evening and weekend) calls – the hired candidate is expected to respond at these times. Due to the responsive nature of this business, the ideal candidate will live no more than 30 minutes from the home.
PLEASE NOTE: There is a strong preference for candidates who have experience working in private estates.
Skills Needed/Role Responsibility:
A background in construction is a plus, knowledge of all house mechanical components, trouble shooting issues and addressing with vendors.
- Able to complete some physically demanding tasks
- Heavy lifting (within OSHA Standards and Guidelines)
- Carry and climb ladders as needed
- Keeping driveways clear of debris
- Operate a “Gas Power Pressure Washer”
- Have a basic understanding and working knowledge of the Electrical, Mechanical and Plumbing Systems of Residential Construction
- Property/Estate maintenance experience preferred
- Light landscape maintenance
- Exterior furniture, detail, cover and uncover
- Pool check, temperature water levels
- Run local errands
- Light painting
- Assist with holiday decorations
Role Requirements:
- At least five years' experience in a similar hands-on maintenance role in a private household or luxury residential building
- English speaking (While additional languages are beneficial, they are not required)
- Non-smoker
- Have reliable transportation to and from work every day
- Flexibility to work after-hours and weekends when needed. This request, at times, may be on short notice, depending on the situation.
- Must be local to the Miami area
Compensation/Benefits:
- $100,000 annually and benefits package, including standard paid vacation and personal days and health insurance coverage
