What are the responsibilities and job description for the Planning coordinator position at DMI Companies?
OVERVIEW
The Stock Planning Coordinator is responsible for the development of work instructions for the production team to ensure our products are produced on time for distribution in a profitable manner.
They work closely with multiple departments to determine material, equipment, and labor requirements to meet demand and quality standards.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES
- Utilize ERP system to determine production requirements based on customer demand.
- View requirements for stock items and create necessary Manufacturing Orders (MO).
- Coordinate with production foreman / supervisors to determine manufacturing limitations (ex. material or machinery) and adjust planning accordingly and communicate changes to involved parties.
- Communicate work status with Production Manager.
- Monitor MO reporting and raw material inventory within the department for accuracy.
- Work closely with other departments and factories to ensure accurate and timely information flows between all parties.
- Supports key initiatives and implementation of new software as needed.
- Works closely with CPC Manager related to refining existing processes within the software and supports / develops automated workflows.
- Ensures that BOM's are accurate at the time of planning.
- Have a continuous improvement mindset at all times to identify ways to improve and / or streamline processes.
EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Proficiency with MRP, MRPII, or ERP system required, MS Dynamics AX (Axapta) experience preferred.
- Highly accurate and attentive to detail.
- Works well with others, team player.
- Utilize effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to deal with a variety of job assignments utilizing excellent time management skills.
- Effective problem-solving abilities.
- Strong skills Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and Microsoft Teams.
- Ability to maintain proper attendance and punctuality standards.
