We are seeking a PET/CT, Nuclear Medicine Technologist to work on our mobile imaging unit. This position will be responsible for traveling to clinics and medical centers performing PET/CT scans in Woodbury and St. Louis Park, Minnesota and on-site Nuc Med studies in Northfield, Minnesota.
Our standard work week is five days a week Monday-Friday, even if you aren't scheduled to work all five days. The position does not have a permanent fixed schedule because our routes are subject to change at any time. You will be required to work an alternative schedule within the region as needed to provide backup coverage for leaves of absences, vacations, unplanned absences, etc., on unscheduled days. We try our best to provide ample notice, but this isn’t always feasible.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Performing imaging procedures that meet the quality expectations of the patient, referring physician, and radiologist.
- Following the orders of the referring physician and protocols specified by the radiologist.
- Preparing and administering radiopharmaceuticals as prescribed by the physician order.
- Viewing images to ensure quality of pictures and transferring images to the Radiologist for interpretation and verifying the images and patient information arrived correctly.
- Explaining medical procedures to patients and answering any questions they may have.
- Following safety procedures to protect the patients and themselves from unnecessary radiation exposure.
- Monitoring and observing any unusual reactions patients may have to drugs.
- Maintaining detailed procedural records.
- Complying with safety and quality procedures and initiatives by strictly following safety policies, rules and safe work methods, making suggestions to support continuous improvements in safety, promptly correcting or reporting safety hazards or unsafe conditions, and promptly reporting injuries for timely diagnoses and medical treatment.
- This position requires travel up to 100% of the time.
Qualifications
- A minimum of an Associate’s degree in Nuclear Medicine
- Exceptional interpersonal and relationship management, analytical, organizational, empathy, critical thinking and analytical skills
- Must be able to multi-task while maintaining great patient care as well as superior quality of exams in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on accuracy
- The ability to work well independently with limited direct supervision
- PC proficiency to access internet websites, review on-line documentation and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations, Testing
- CNMT or ARRT (N), CPR certified; CDL B endorsement and DOT annual physical certification, mandatory education provided by DMS, TB, State licensure if required, Flu, Covid and Hep B vaccinations as required.
