We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Medical Scheduler / PSR to join our growing team in-office. In this critical role, you will be responsible for scheduling patient appointments across various departments, ensuring a smooth and efficient patient experience. This in-office position plays an essential part in the success of our healthcare practice.
Responsibilities
- Schedule patient appointments accurately and efficiently across multiple specialty departments using electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Collect patient demographics and insurance information.
- Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and other healthcare providers regarding appointment scheduling and any necessary changes.
- Manage appointment requests, cancellations, and rescheduling requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Verify insurance coverage and obtain pre-authorizations when required.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records within the EHR system.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant HIPAA regulations and data privacy standards.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients and colleagues.
- Assist with other administrative tasks as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in healthcare administration or related field preferred.
- 1-2 years of experience in medical scheduling or a related role.
- Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong customer service orientation with a focus on patient satisfaction.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong work ethic and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
