Job purpose
To ensure that parts conform to specifications and that only approved parts are shipped, to perform inspection and Quality Control tests on representative samples, at specified stages of production. Immediately communicate the results of inspections, especially when nonconforming parts are discovered. Assist in the investigation of assigned problems related to product quality, and customer claims. Facilitate internal communication and working relationships.
Duties and responsibilities
- Inspect and test incoming material, work-in-process, and finished goods to ensure specified requirements are met.
- Record and maintain inspection records.
- Identify, segregate, and document all products that do not meet specified requirements.
- Assist in the investigation of problems and root cause analysis.
- Participate in productivity improvement plans and cost reduction plans (Total Productive Maintenance activity). Investigate and analyze causes for defective products or production inefficacies.
- Assist in training of employees in quality principles and activities.
- Facilitate internal communication and working relationships within areas of responsibility.
- Perform all duties in accordance with established safety rules and regulations.
- Obtain a full knowledge of the mixing, coating, and ink supply system to be proficient in troubleshooting process problems.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand and walk. The employee is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
Safety Requirements
Ability to wear required PPE (including safety glasses, gloves (nitrile, canvas, etc.), hearing protection, ANSI-approved footwear, and others as required.) in any manufacturing area.
The starting pay rate for this position is $17.00 per hour. The rate may vary based on the candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications.
