Job description
Do It Tennis is a specialty retail shop with a physical location in San Diego, California and an eCommerce website serving customers around the globe. We also have a satellite warehouse in Jacksonville, FL. We have been in operation since 2005, and have opened a new satellite warehouse in Houston, TX to help strategically meet the needs of our growing customer base. The warehouse is located at 11665 Fuqua St, Houston, TX 77034.
We are looking for someone to help us manage, and operate this Houston based warehouse with the idea of growing a fully staffed shipping/receiving team over time. The ideal candidate is someone who is comfortable working alone and independently while being accountable to and operating as part of our California based team.
Daily tasks:
-Processing orders & printing shipping labels
-Receiving and cataloging large incoming deliveries of products
-Packaging customer orders for shipping out
-Coordinating with postal carriers for timely pickup of packages to leave the warehouse
-Helping with customer service issues
-Knowledge of tennis is helpful, but not a requirement and can be taught. However, tennis experience is greatly helpful when picking and pulling products for orders and when helping customers over the phone. Be sure to let us know if you have tennis experience when applying.
The ideal candidate is:
-Someone who is comfortable with computer work as well manual labor
-A person who likes to work in a fast-paced work environment, who likes to hustle and move at a quick pace over the full workday
-Someone who can think on their feet and is not afraid to make logical, pro-active decisions without having to ask for permission
-Someone who is able to lift 25 lbs or more.
-This position requires a self-starter who, once trained, needs little direction to perform their duties.
