We are seeking a skilled and proactive Construction Superintendent to oversee the day-to-day operations of the Morris County PPE Warehouse & Shelter project. This $18M project includes a 50,000-square-foot pre-engineered building, a 12,000-square-foot steel-frame office building, and extensive site preparation.
The Superintendent will manage on-site activities, ensure compliance with safety and quality standards, and work closely with the project manager, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure the project is completed on schedule and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- On-Site Supervision: Oversee daily construction activities, ensuring that the work progresses according to schedule, specifications, and safety standards.
- Team Coordination: Manage and direct subcontractors, vendors, and construction crews to ensure effective communication and timely completion of tasks.
- Site Preparation & Coordination: Supervise site work, including grading, tree clearing, and foundation preparation, ensuring alignment with design and engineering requirements.
- Quality Control & Safety: Monitor work quality and adherence to safety protocols. Conduct regular site inspections to maintain high standards and ensure safe working conditions.
- Schedule Management: Ensure that construction milestones and deadlines are met, making adjustments to the schedule as necessary to accommodate changes or delays.
- Material Management: Oversee the delivery, storage, and use of materials to ensure availability and efficiency on-site.
- Issue Resolution: Identify and resolve any construction-related issues or delays, collaborating with the Project Manager to address challenges.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of daily activities, inspections, and site reports, ensuring all documentation is up to date.
Required Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience as a Construction Superintendent or Foreman in large-scale commercial or industrial construction projects.
- Experience with pre-engineered buildings, steel-frame construction, and site preparation.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, safety regulations, and local building codes.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills to manage teams and coordinate multiple tasks.
