We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Project Accountant to manage project financials, track costs and revenue, and support project teams in delivering successful projects within budget. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting skills and experience in construction or project-based industries.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and track project budgets, costs, and revenue to ensure projects stay within financial parameters.
- Prepare and maintain accurate project financial reports, including cost forecasts and budget updates.
- Review project contracts and ensure proper coding of costs to appropriate cost codes and project accounts.
- Monitor and process invoices, payments, and receipts for project-related expenses.
- Coordinate with project managers and vendors to resolve billing issues and ensure timely payment.
- Reconcile project accounts, including ensuring proper cost allocation and correct revenue recognition.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reporting.
- Support internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and project financial policies.
- Ensure timely submission of all project-related documentation for accounting and compliance purposes.
- Collaborate with project teams to provide insights into project financial performance and recommend corrective actions as necessary.
Required Experience and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3 years of accounting experience, with a focus on project or construction accounting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, budgeting, and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage CRE 300, Procore, or similar project-based systems).
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables and financial modeling.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented and ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
