What are the responsibilities and job description for the Program Coordinator III - Reentry Services position at DOC-Central Facility Account?
DUTIES:
This position requires strong leadership abilities, clear written and verbal direction, project management skills, and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to identify reentry best practices through peer review/research and provide recommendations for such initiatives designed to strengthen and enhance Reentry Services received by the offender. Monitor effectiveness of current initiatives through feedback from the institution, stakeholders, and data outcomes. Coordinate with Program Coordinator I’s and II’s all reentry initiatives with strategies to increase efficacy in the division. Supports the development of Reentry Services Division training materials, and all presentations. Primarily responsible for data collection, auditing initiatives through Inmate Management System, and improving systems based upon these audits, analysis of outcomes and strategic planning. Identify key community partnerships to increase returning citizens access to employment. Oversee the effective coordination with Department of Correction Central Office divisions, institutional staff, and external reentry partner agencies to increase the effectiveness of our reentry initiatives. Coordinate and assist the Reentry Specialists, including attendance at institutional reentry committee meetings and trainings. Provides direction regarding all reentry initiatives and Inmate Management System documentation. Acts as a liaison with various private, local, state and federal agencies to assist in reentry planning for the releasing incarcerated individuals Compile reentry briefings and reports, including updates of statistical information through both written and visual presentation. Respond to written and oral correspondence from external stakeholders to ensure they are provided with accurate and timely information related to the reentry process. Perform supervisor duties and the Employee Performance Review System (EPRS) evaluations within established time frames. Ensure compliance with policy, procedural guidelines, and established MOU’s. Perform all other related duties as required.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Based on assignment, possession of a current and valid Massachusetts Class D Motor Vehicle Operator's license may be required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Demonstrates proficiency in the use of various computer applications including but not limited to: Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Power Point and Outlook; ability to exercise sound judgement and effectively make decisions; ability to supervise, including planning and assigning work according to the nature of the job to be accomplished; ability to prioritize and delegate responsibility ensuring accountability and successful completion in accordance to established deadlines. Knowledge of criminal justice system and Department of Correction and knowledge of Department of Correction’s Inmate Management System (IMS).
COMMENTS:
This is a Civil Service position. Please note that salaries for union positions are determined according to the provisions of the respective collective bargaining agreement.
