Job Purpose: Community Engagement Coordination
This position is responsible for the coordination of the Curry County Community Advisory Council (CAC), the Community Health Improvement Plans (CHIPs) priorities, and facilitating community engagement activities for the Coordinated Care Organization (CCO). They will communicate with network providers, members, and other stakeholders in the CCO service area to coordinate this work. All work will be conducted through the lens of improving health equity for all vulnerable populations. This position is located in Curry County, Oregon.
Qualifications, Education, & Experience
- Degree in Social Work, Public Health, Communications, Health Care Administration, Political Science, or related field preferred; experience in lieu of education may be considered
- Three years’ experience in volunteer coordination, project coordination, or community outreach
- Experience with Oregon’s Coordinated Care Organization Model preferred
- Preference will be given to Curry County residents; must be a resident of Curry, or surrounding area as frequent travel will be between Gold Beach- and Brookings, Oregon
Essential Responsibilities: Curry County Community Engagement
- Coordinate CAC and CHIP initiated projects, in consultation with CAC and CHIP Chairs, and Advanced Health’s Community Engagement Team
- Research issues, answer phone calls and questions, schedule in-person and virtual community meetings and appointments, and type correspondence and other documents related to community engagement
- Coordinates assigned sponsorships and projects for Advanced Health, including initiatives regarding the CCO Quality Incentive Measures
- Research, develop, and implement plans in partnership with other organizations to address the cultural competency and health equity transformation requirements of the Oregon Health Authority (OHA)
- Participate in Advanced Health’s community engagement activities, including coordinating outreach opportunities
- Act as a community liaison to a variety of services that share mutual populations, and to outside community stakeholders, reporting back to the Community Engagement Team
- Coordinate the ongoing development and activities of the Curry CAC and CHIP Committees, including member recruitment and outreach and engagement
- Coordinate CAC and CHIP Meetings including but not limited to scheduling in-person and virtual meetings, preparing, and disseminating meeting communications, securing location and food, developing agendas, recording meeting minutes, and being in attendance
- Facilitate communication with Advanced Health staff to provide a high level of support to the local CAC and CHIPs
- Work with the Advanced Health Community Engagement Team to implement work relevant to the CHIP, overseen by the CAC
- Participate in quality and organizational process improvement activities and teams when requested
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures as applicable to area(s) of responsibility
- Handle confidential information and materials appropriately and maintain a secure work area

Working Conditions:
This position must have the ability to remain in a stationary position, occasionally move about inside the office to access office machinery, printer, etc., frequently communicate and exchange accurate information.
Work Condition: Hybrid work
Employee generally works within the interior of an office or remote work from home environment.
Employee frequently travels locally and is responsible for own transportation. Out of area travel may be required on occasion.
Hours of operations and specific staff scheduling may vary based on operational need.
The office environment is clean with a comfortable temperature and moderate noise level.
Exposed to:
Onsite: Cold/heat controls, close contact with employees and the public in office environment. Remote: Employee is responsible for maintaining a safe work environment that is conducive to successful productivity and work output.
Machines, equipment, tools, and supplies used: Constantly operates a computer or other office productivity machinery, such as postage machine, fax, copier, calculator, multi-line telephone system, scanner.
May answer a high volume of telephone calls, complete documentation, and use computer programs to either obtain or record information.
Multiple Duties: Must be able to work under conditions of frequent interruption and be able to stay on task.
