Classification: NON-EXEMPT | Status & Schedule: FULL-TIME, MONDAY – FRIDAY, 8AM – 5PM
Location: ONSITE, this position reports to the Coos Bay Office location
Salary: $21.40 - $25.21/HOURLY
Department: FINANCE | Reports to: CONTROLLER | Supervision Exercised: NON-SUPERVISORY
Job Purpose: Accounts Payable Specialist
This position is responsible for performing a variety of financial administrative and fiscal record keeping activities.
Qualifications, Education, & Experience
- Minimum High School Diploma or GED; Associate degree in business administration preferred
- Two years’ experience in accounts payable, finance records management or computerized accounting systems
- Two years’ experience in customer service-related position
Essential Responsibilities: Finance and Accounting Support
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to track spending program budgets, ensuring adherence to financial guidelines and objectives
- Enters vendor information into accounting software system; verifies that invoice information is entered correctly
- Record entry of, verify documentation for and distribute company credit cards, assists with accounting records and ledgers by reconciling monthly statements and transactions
- Process incoming email inquiries or route to appropriate finance position
- Upload and attach invoices and other required documentation from document files to QuickBooks software
- Processing Claims Checks and provide backup coverage for provider configuration processes
- Prepare and process accounts payable, including monthly capitation payments, verifying proper coding of payments, and other related financial reporting
- Process, route and/or scan and file incoming and outgoing hard copy and electronic mail
- Analyze and resolve issues or challenges that arise while performing backup roles (dbl check this), Maintain accurate records of tasks performed, outcomes achieved while filling in for backup roles, Play a pivotal role during unexpected events by stepping into backup roles to ensure continuity of operations
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors during audits, providing necessary documentation, explanations, and assistance
- Maintains timely and accurate required records, reports, and files to ensure adherence to GAAP within accounting department, monitor and track spending activities, maintaining accurate records of expenses, allocations, and variances for reporting and analysis
- Perform other ad hoc finance-related tasks and projects as assigned by the Controller or CFO
- Participate in quality and organizational process improvement activities and teams when requested
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures as applicable to area(s) of responsibility
- Handle confidential information and materials appropriately and maintain a secure work area
