Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and professional Front Desk Receptionist to join our dynamic team at Doctors Urgent Care. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring smooth front-office operations while providing exceptional customer service to patients. The role includes handling front desk responsibilities and verifying insurance information for patients seeking urgent care services.
Key Responsibilities:Front Desk Receptionist Duties:
- Greeting Patients: Welcome patients in a friendly and professional manner upon arrival.
- Check-in & Check-out: Verify patient information, collect necessary documentation, and input data into the system. Ensure accurate and timely check-out procedures after the visit.
- Scheduling: Answer phone calls, assist patients in scheduling appointments, and manage patient flow to avoid delays.
- Administrative Support: Manage patient forms, maintain a clean and organized reception area, and assist other staff members with administrative tasks as needed.
- Patient Communication: Provide information regarding services, operating hours, and directions. Ensure patients are informed of any delays or important updates regarding their visit.
Insurance Verification Duties:
- Insurance Verification: Verify insurance coverage for patients before their visit, ensuring the facility accepts their insurance plan and confirming eligibility and benefits.
- Data Entry: Input accurate insurance details into the system and update patient records with the most current information.
- Problem Resolution: Address insurance-related issues and communicate with insurance companies, patients, or other providers to resolve discrepancies or issues.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a medical front desk or customer service role; experience in insurance verification is a plus.
- Skills:
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and patient management software.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain a calm, positive, and professional demeanor in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of medical insurance, billing processes, and terminology is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit or stand for long periods.
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs as needed (e.g., supplies, forms).
Work Environment:
- Fast-paced medical environment with frequent patient interaction.
- 3 12 hour shifts and/or 2 12 hour shifts plus weekend rotating weeks
- rotating weekends are required, 2 weekends a month.
