Plant Operations Manager/Director of Support Services HOURS: 8am-5pm, Mon-Fri. May be required to work weekends, evenings and/or night shifts.POSITION SUMMARY:
Plans, organizes, directs activities of Support Services Departments which are necessary in maintaining the Dodge County Hospital campus and off-campus facilities physical structures, HVAC, mechanical and electrical systems, utilities, and grounds in an operative and safe working condition. Manages the Plant Operations department, Environmental Services department, and Dietary department either directly or through reporting personnel to facilitate efficient operations. Accountable to the CEO for planning and maintaining an effective organization for administering labor and material controls, training of personnel on job requirements, life and general safety and effective management practices. Serves as Safety Officer. Coordinates and acts as a resource for special projects.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree in engineering-related field and/or four or more years of experience in hospital maintenance or construction within a healthcare setting is preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
EXPERIENCE:
• At least four (4) years on-the-job experience in at least one of the following fields (all fields preferred): Industrial Maintenance and/or Plant Operations Management (operation of gas fired boilers, emergency generators, electrical distribution, steam distribution, large telephone communication systems, medical gas distribution systems), Institutional Housekeeping and/or Commercial Laundry Services Management (safe chemical usage and infection control standards), Healthcare Dietary/Nutritional Services Management (operation and management of equipment), Healthcare Safety Director.
• Experience in health care safety, as safety officer or coordinator, is preferred.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS:
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS:
• Georgia Department of Labor Safety Engineering License to operate, service, and maintain Class I, II, and III boilers.
• Environmental Protection Agency License to install, service, and maintain refrigerant systems.
