We’re looking for a hands-on, proactive, and collaborative IT Systems Administrator to join our Technology Support team in the Grand Rapids, MI office. The IT Systems Administrator will assist in managing and maintaining the firm’s IT infrastructure, ensuring smooth and efficient operations. This role involves installing and configuring software and hardware, troubleshooting system issues, and providing technical support to end-users.
Responsibilities:
- Provide on-site technical support for the Grand Rapids and nearby offices.
- Install and configure software, hardware, and networks.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues.
- Ensure the security and efficiency of IT infrastructure.
- Manage network servers and technology tools.
- Set up accounts and workstations.
- Upgrade systems with new releases and models.
- Develop and maintain local networks to ensure optimal performance.
- Ensure data is backed up and systems are secure from unauthorized access.
- Create and maintain technical documentation and manuals.
- Train staff on new technologies.
- Respond in a timely manner to service issues and requests.
- Test and evaluate new technology.
- Provide technical direction and support to users within the organization.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED; Associate's degree in Information Technology or a related field preferred.
- 1-2 years of experience in an IT-related role (relevant internship experience included).
- Basic understanding of IT systems, networks, and databases.
- Experience with the following:
- Microsoft Windows 11
- Microsoft Windows Server 2019 or newer
- Microsoft 365
- Microsoft Active Directory
- Network switches and cabling
- Wireless networks
- Cloud technologies
- Virtualization
- Cybersecurity
- Ability to analyze problems, exercise judgment, think strategically and make sound objective decisions.
- Ability to work in a team environment, as well as independently.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Certifications in IT (e.g., CompTIA A , Network ) are a plus.
- Must be willing to travel and have reliable transportation.
