Primary Responsibilities:
- Process weekly, biweekly, or semimonthly client payrolls in accordance with our clients’ time entry data and regulatory requirements. Maintain client lists, schedules, and calendars for routine payroll processing, year-end adjustments, and holiday schedules.
- Administer paychecks by importing hours from time and production records, determine earnings by calculating gross pay, required withholdings, deductions, and net pay using established procedures developed in coordination with company policies, regulatory, and payroll system provider requirements.
- Create and distribute payroll reports to various clients electronically. Create customized reports unique to each client’s needs.
- Set up direct deposit, withholdings, and/or deductions.
- Ensure the appropriate new hire paperwork is processed and verified in a timely manner to meet the client processing schedule.
- Validate new hire data integrity and process payroll entries for bonuses, commissions, relocations, stock options, and year-end adjustments as required.
- Prepare general ledger reports and entries to be submitted to clients and communicate payroll data as required.
- Learn and become an advanced user of the Asure software. Train clients in the proper use of the software.
- Associate’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Two to four years of payroll processing experience is ideal, preferably at a payroll processing firm.
- Knowledge of the Asure software or technical ability to become proficient quickly.
- Ability to provide excellent service over the phone by troubleshooting user issues and recommending solutions to improve the client’s situation. Ability to handle a wide variety of calls, regular interruptions, and deadlines with confidence and ease.
- Strong data entry, attention to detail, and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize projects to ensure timely completion.
- Strong math skills and accuracy with numbers and calculations.
- Competency in professional writing and communication.
- Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with clients and coworkers to promote a positive quality service image.
- Ability to operate various types of technology and software applications. Competent user of MS Office, especially Word, Excel, and Outlook.
