What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dog Trainer position at Dog Training Elite Northeast Wisconsin?

This position requires you to travel to clients’ homes and train with them 1hr/week.
· Seeking motivated individual ready to learn for rapidly expanding dog training business for weekday afternoons / evenings - No Dog Training Experience Required!
· Loving dogs is a must, but we also are looking for someone who enjoys people, teaching them, working with dog owners, and investing in the community.
· Must currently have a non-aggressive / not reactive dog or be willing to get a dog.
· Applicants must be eager to work with all sizes, ages, and breeds of dogs. We train obedience, therapy, and service dogs.
· Our training is primarily in clients’ homes, so you will be in multiple environments with many kinds of people and dogs. Position also requires working at our booths at home shows, food truck nights, or other venues to explain our services (as required).
· Non-compete/Confidentiality agreements will be required.
Qualifications
· Must have a reliable, in very good condition vehicle and valid driver’s license.
· Working weekday afternoons and evenings is required.
· Excellent communication skills are a must, especially interpersonally, in meetings, and in working with different kinds of people
· We must have someone who is confident, responsible, independent and a great team player
· Lifting and bending required
· Background check may be requested
· Position begins with on-the-job training paid at $15/hour. Once on-the-job training is complete, pay increases to $20/hour, drive time to and from clients will be prorated at hourly wage
· Working hours will vary by client load; applicant must be willing to adjust schedule as needed
Responsibilities
- Train dogs using balanced training techniques & tools to promote foundational obedience and behavior modifications.
- Assess individual dog needs and develop tailored training programs.
- Handle and restrain animals safely during training sessions.
- Maintain clear communication with clients regarding scheduling, training progress and techniques.

Training/Supplies We Provide:
- On the Job Training: Obedience basics, techniques, dog knowledge, e-collar training techniques
- Initial set of DTE Uniforms: T-Shirts, Polos, Sweater, Hat
- Training Bag Essentials/Tools for appointments
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10 – 20 per week
