Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Compliance:
- Oversee the administration of employee files and the Human Resource Information System
- Identify and ensure adherence to legal requirements and government reporting regulations (OSHA, EEOC, ADA, ERISA, FMLA, etc)
- Maintain and update internal employment policies to reflect best practices and legal standards.
- Ensure pack member handbook is kept current and comprehensive.
- Collaborate closely with the Workers Compensation carrier to effectively address reported injuries.
- Recruitment and Pack Member experience
- Actively participate in the recruitment and hiring of quality individuals.
- Collaborate with leadership to design and execute staffing, recruitment, and retention strategies that align with the organization’s talent needs.
- Plan and implement engaging pack member events, including team-building activities, social gatherings, celebrations, contests, fairs, and all-pack member meetings.
- Develop and implement programs for pack member recognition and retention to enhance overall pack member satisfaction.
- Mediation/Guidance
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and address pack member relations issues, work performance challenges, and organizational productivity concerns.
- Support leadership with performance evaluations, coaching statements, performance improvement plans, and termination processes.
- Serve as a neutral third party to facilitate conflict resolution between pack members or between pack members and leadership, aiming to achieve mutually beneficial solutions when possible.
- Communicate effectively with both pack members and leadership, particularly during periods of uncertainty and stress, to build trust, enhance productivity, and foster a positive organizational culture.
- Balance the needs and concerns of pack members with the goal and objectives of Dogs Inc. While prioritizing the well-being of all team members, it is essential to find common grounds that advances business priorities without compromising the interests of individuals.
- Safety Program
- Implement a comprehensive “Safety in the Workplace” program designed to establish practices and procedures that protect pack members from work-related injuries and illnesses by addressing potential hazards. This includes providing thorough training on safety protocols and encouraging all pack members to report any unsafe conditions or incidents promptly.
- Re-initiate quarterly fire drills in collaboration with Buildings and Grounds, coordinating schedules with the fire marshal to ensure compliance and preparedness.
- Conduct random walkthroughs to confirm the pack members are aware of the location of their evacuation maps and the appropriate routes to take during various scenarios. Additionally, ensure they are familiar with the locations of fire extinguishers and other safety equipment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university and 5 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
