Description:
The Skilled Companion Program Lead will lead the Skilled Companion team, oversee the process and planning of Skilled Companion placements and personally coordinate all public adoptions and public service placements. Work with multiple departments to ensure a smooth transition and placement of dogs chosen for the Skilled Companion program or dogs placed in public adoption. Maintain public service partners and efficient and professional communication with applicants interested in adopting our superheroes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as key communicator between Dogs Inc and public service partners and public adoption applicants.
- Actively oversee the assessment process of dogs that need to be evaluated for the Skilled Companion Program and ensure decisions are communicated in a timely manner.
- Maintain all necessary paperwork for public adoption and public service placements and oversee Companion Placement paperwork and lead the team in any necessary training for paperwork and data entry.
- Oversee the results of phone interviews and zoom calls with potential Skilled Companion applicants.
- Provide weekly updates to the Director of Student Services: Status of Skilled Companion Program placements, adoptions, and public service placements, both completed and planned.
- Update/maintain status of dogs in IWDR in a timely manner.
- Maintain all necessary data spreadsheets in Teams on a weekly basis.
- Coordinate with Admissions to resolve any concerns about applications in process.
- Coordinate with Canine University for any required extended getaways during waiting periods.
- Coordinate with the Medical Department to participate in career transfer physical exams and schedule To-Go-Home exams in preparation for placement.
- Coordinate with Puppy Raiser Services regarding placement and required information to provide to puppy raisers.
- Ensure the Alumni Benefit of Fromm food is being communicated and implemented to Skilled Companion Placements.
- Willingness to assume additional responsibilities as guided by the Director of Student Services.
- Ability to direct and engage with volunteers and delegate necessary tasks for the team.
- Oversee and assist with administrative responsibilities encompassing the entire Skilled Companion Program.
- Willingness to create and follow recruitment initiatives for continual program growth.
- Abide by the company's confidentiality policy.
- Efficient and professional communication with applicants interested in adopting our superheroes.
Qualifications:
Knowledge of canine health and basic canine skills training. Demonstrated interpersonal and organizational skills required. Computer literacy needed. Valid driver’s license required with good driving history. Ability to lead a team and delegate effectively.
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university and one or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Customer service experience preferred.
