General Manager (GM)
Dogtopia of Deer Park is searching for a dynamic and motivated General Manager to lead our team and oversee all aspects of daily operations. We are looking for a leader with a strong passion for dogs and an even stronger commitment to cultivating a positive, collaborative workplace. The ideal candidate will take ownership of the overall financial health of the business, inspire and develop the team, and consistently anticipate and address operational needs.
Responsibilities:
Leadership and Team Development
- Lead, inspire, and manage the entire team to deliver a best-in-class experience for dogs and their pet parents.
- Recruit, retain, and develop team members with a focus on career growth and engagement.
- Promote a positive, solutions-focused work environment and proactively address daily challenges.
- Mentor Operations Manager, Assistant General Managers (AGMs) and team members, empowering them to take ownership of their roles.
Operational Excellence
- Oversee all daily operations to ensure smooth, efficient functioning across daycare, boarding, and spa services.
- Independently manage and solve operational issues as they arise, and partner with ownership to enhance or adjust processes.
- Ensure adherence to Dogtopia’s safety, cleanliness, and wellness standards, holding the team accountable to these core values.
- Maintain organized and effective operational systems to ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming facility.
Financial Management
- Take full responsibility for the financial health of the business, setting and achieving revenue goals.
- Monitor and optimize key performance metrics, including customer satisfaction, retention, and add-on sales.
- Oversee inventory, payroll, and other budget items, ensuring financial efficiency and stewardship.
- Report on business performance to ownership with a high-level view, offering insights and recommendations.
- Research and implement additional revenue streams – grooming and training
Customer Engagement and Communication
- Serve as a point of contact for pet parents, fostering an environment of trust, safety, and exceptional service.
- Lead the team in maintaining a welcoming and organized front desk, ensuring all customer interactions are friendly, informed, and proactive.
- Promote a positive customer experience through regular engagement, updates, and proactive communication about pet needs and behavior plans.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma required, bachelor's degree in animal science, business, communications or related field preferred along with 5 years of proven leadership experience.
- Proven experience in managing operations, preferably in a pet care, hospitality, or customer-facing business.
- Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets and business metrics.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams.
- Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- A solutions-oriented, positive outlook with adaptability to handle day-to-day challenges independently.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet business needs
Compensation:
- Competitive base salary with performance-based quarterly bonuses. Total compensation $50,000 - $70,000/year

Pay: $55,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
