Shift Leader - Doggy Daycare

Yes, you can bring your dogs to work with you for free daycare, a dog lover's dream! You will also build relationships with tons of dogs who regularly attend daycare as our mission is to socialize dogs.

Dogtopia is the largest network of daycare-focused stores in the world with over 200 daycares in the US. We have a focus on socializing dogs and we do this in our playrooms. Pet parents have the ability to watch their dogs on our Webcams all day! As the Shift Lead, you are the main point of contact for our pet parents. Your role is to build trusting relationships with our parents who are regulars coming to see us multiple times per week. You are the Chief Experience Officer for our pet parents because we want the best part of their day to be coming to Dogtopia. Giving them this awesome experience not only builds long-term connections but this is how they trust us with their dogs.

As shift lead you will be responsible for checking in and out dogs, answering phone calls and setting appointments, giving store tours to new pet parents and explaining the value of our enrollment programs and how this benefits their dog, dealing with customer service issues as they come up, and we are very transparency driver so we are always maintaining excellent communication with our pet parnets.

We start off with training in our dog rooms so that you can have a full understanding of what we do. This will also help you when communicating to our pet parents in the lobby who will often need you to explain dog behavior. We teach you how to command a playroom of dogs and monitor body language and behavior, as well as our cleaning programs. In the playrooms we are maintaining a safe and fun environment. There are 1- 2 afternoon shifts available each week if desired.

Now that we have the fun out of the way let’s get into what you can offer us.

New employees will start with 3 - 4 hours of classes on our online training system Dogtopia Connect. These courses are independently certified by both the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants (IAABC) and the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers (CCPDT). You then start by shadowing our current employees to ensure you are fully prepared.

Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour
