Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Dog Trainer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for training dogs of various breeds and temperaments, helping them develop good behavior and obedience skills. You will work closely with pet owners to educate them on training techniques and ensure a positive experience for both the dogs and their families. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pet care and a genuine love for animals. Training will occur at customers homes. Company vehicle will be provided for your travel to and from appointments.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement effective training programs tailored to individual dogs' needs.
- Teach basic commands, advanced skills, and behavioral modifications using positive reinforcement techniques.
- Conduct group training sessions and private lessons for dog owners.
- Assess each dog's temperament and behavior to create customized training plans.
- Provide guidance to pet owners on proper care, handling, and training practices.
- Maintain accurate records of each dog's progress and communicate updates with owners.
- Ensure a safe and clean training environment for both dogs and clients.
- Collaborate with other staff members to promote overall pet wellness.
Experience
- Proven experience in dog training.
- Familiarity with veterinary practices or experience as a veterinary technician or assistant is a plus.
- Strong customer service skills to effectively communicate with pet owners.
- Ability to handle various dog breeds, including those that may require special attention or care.
- Experience in heavy lifting may be necessary when handling larger breeds or equipment used in training sessions.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 10 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Evenings as needed
- Monday to Friday
- Rotating weekends
- Weekends as needed
Experience:
- Dog training: 2 years (Preferred)
Ability to Relocate:
- Brighton, MI 48116: Relocate before starting work (Preferred)
