Bring your HR skills to a leading food production company! Doherty Staffing Solutions is partnering with a leading supplier in the food production industry located in Fosston, MN. We are seeking candidates for a Human Resources Manager role on the 1st shift. The hours for this position are 7:00 am-3:30 pm, Monday-Friday. Compensation for this direct hire opportunity is $60,000-$70,000 per year, depending on skills and experience.
What you’ll do as a Human Resources Manager:
- Administer compensation programs, maintain position descriptions and classifications, and manage the performance appraisal process
- Acts as liaison between employee, supervisor, and management during grievance process
- Administer company benefits plans
- Responds to employee relation issues such as employee complaints, harassment allegations, and civil rights complaints
- Administer all Safety/OSHA programs and Workers’ Compensation
- Write Affirmative action plan / EEO-1 reports
- Remain up to date on labor laws and update Employee Handbook as needed; interpret and explain human resource policies and procedures
- Maintain and coordinate employee recognition programs
- Represent the company for unemployment and Workers’ Compensation claims
- Maintain good rapport with applicants, employees, management, and outside agencies
What you’ll bring to the Human Resources Manager role:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management or three years of related experience or a similar combination of education and experience
- Complete understanding of various HR programs and employment law, including benefits eligibility, FLSA, Workers’ Compensation, OSHA compliance, unemployment claims, and safety procedures
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Effective oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and computer literacy
- Ability to objectively coach employees and management through complex, difficult, and emotional issues
- Ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve problems or issues by using judgment that is consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulations, and/or laws
- Must have negative pre-employment and/or subsequent drug/alcohol test results
