Part-Time Assistant Sales Manager - Dolce Vita Gift Shop
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Assistant Sales Manager. at Dolce Vita, a locally owned gift shop located in downtown Asheville. Our shop specializes in accessories and tourist items, and we are looking for someone with experience in sales and cash handling to contribute to our vibrant retail environment.
Responsibilities:
1. Sales and Customer Service:
- Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional service, ensuring a positive shopping experience.
- Assist customers in finding products, answering questions, and offering recommendations.
- Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently using the cash register and credit card terminal.
- Handle cash, credit card, and other forms of payment securely.
- Maintain a balanced cash drawer and reconcile sales at the end of each shift.
- Provide customers with receipts and assist with any inquiries or concerns.
2. Product Knowledge and Merchandising:
- Develop a thorough understanding of the gift shop's products, including accessories and tourist items.
- Stay updated on new arrivals, promotions, and special offers to effectively communicate with customers.
- Ensure merchandise is properly displayed, organized, and stocked on the sales floor.
- Collaborate with the team to implement visual merchandising strategies that attract customers.
3. Store Operations:
- Assist in opening and closing procedures, ensuring the shop is ready for business each day.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the store, including the sales floor and cashier area.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate restocking needs to the Store Manager.
- Collaborate with the team to maintain a safe and secure environment for staff and customers.
4. Team Support:
- Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve sales targets and provide excellent customer service.
Qualifications:
- Previous retail experience, preferably in a sales or cashier role.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage and assist customers
effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented and able to handle cash transactions accurately.
- Familiarity with accessories and tourist items is a plus.
- Availability to work 15 hours per week, including weekends and holidays.
Schedule: Tuesdays 10 am-6 pm and Fridays 3 pm-9 pm.
