GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The Human Resources Supervisor is responsible for performing HR and safety duties for Cooler employees, working closely with other members of the HR team supporting. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: employee relations, labor relations, leaves of absence management, systems maintenance, training, policy implementation, and employment law compliance.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS/DUTIES OF THE POSITION:
* Coordinate leaves of absence, in conjunction with vendor, working closely with employees and managers. Maintain accurate records and reports of all leaves of absence.
* Maintain employee records and records in personnel files, ADPEV6 and other systems.
* Resolve time keeping in connection with HR data entry.
* Conduct employee meetings to ensure smooth onboarding and retention. Help organize training & development initiatives to assist with retention.
* Assist in development and implementation of personnel procedures and policies, providing guidance and interpretation to employees.
* Assists the manager in producing and maintaining handbooks for employees covering work rules, safety rules, procedures, training and breaks and lunches.
* Establish and maintain effective working relationships with and between employees, supervisors, and managers. Maintain relationships with employees at all levels of the organization. Promote and foster and environment of open communication and honest, candid feedback.
* Participate in implementing department goals, objectives and systems needed to achieve goals.
* Provide training to employees and managers on HR and employee safety topics such as wage & hour laws, anti-harassment, Injury and Illness Prevention Program, and other company initiatives.
* Maintain compliant I-9 forms and ensure E-Verify requests are completed in compliance with regulations.
* Monitor employee compliance by tracking employment authorization document expiration dates, process notification letters to employees approaching expiration and advise management of issues as they arise.
* Implements safety policies and procedures in compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local legislation and codes governing environmental health and safety (OSHA, EPA, and DOT).
* Execute health and safety plans in the workplace according to regulations
* Implement the Company's Target Zero Safety System
* Perform self-assessments to identify and mitigate risk. Conduct reviews and audits of all areas of the operation and facility.
* Develop and implement accident investigation, data analysis, recurrence prevention programs and procedures, and ensure corrective actions are followed through. Ensure the program clearly explains the methods and practices for reporting and investigating accidents/exposures; communicate risks to management.
* Follow all Food Safety Requirements and GMPs as applicable to position.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
