JOB SUMMARY
The Field Quality Control Technician is responsible for ensuring our products conform to all applicable laws and company quality and safety standards. This position, primarily operating in an outdoor environment, will sample, inspect, and test all produced materials (concrete, aggregate, sand, etc.) and compare against external and internal specifications.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Obtain and perform necessary tests for concrete samples and aggregate products in an outdoor environment
- Record and maintain test data and other required information to include both written records and data input into a personal computer
- Work safely and take action to prevent all unsafe actions, processes, and behaviors
- Regular attendance at the worksite or assigned work location
- Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Ability to obtain ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician – Grade I Certification within 9 months of start date
- Attention to detail and maintaining data integrity
- Good observation skills
- Self-motivated, organized, and can work without direct supervision
- Must work well with others in a team environment
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a positive attitude that fosters effective relationships
- Must be able to quickly understand and adhere to safety requirements of this position
- Good computer input skills
- Ability to work overtime, nights, and weekends as required
- Ability to work near, around, or on light or heavy equipment
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Lift objects repeatedly of various dimensions and up to 100 lbs. of weight
- Ability to repeatedly climb stairs and climb ladders
- Ability to repeatedly balance, bend from the trunk, crawl, kneel, push and pull objects
- Ability to tolerate working in all environmental temperatures and weather conditions
- Ability to repeatedly reach, squat, and tolerate prolonged standing/walking/sitting
- Ability to repeatedly walk on uneven surfaces
