The right Medical Services Team Lead checklist will include equal parts curious learner, innovator, administrator, detail driver, mentor, and motivator.

This role provides leadership for the Dollywood Company Medical Services Team. It will be done in a manner consistent with the company's mission, values, operating philosophies, and standards. The Team Lead is a training position. As such, it is required that the skills and performance be evaluated as being eligible for promotion. If performance does not fit that profile, the opportunity will be given to interview for other open positions within the Dollywood Company, with no guarantee of placement. These responsibilities will be carried out in a manner consistent with the mission, values operating philosophies, and standards of the Dollywood Company.

Summary of Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Hire, train, schedule, coach, and evaluate EMT-A/Paramedics according to approved procedures.
  • Ensure training plans are up to date. This will include plans for: emergency vehicles, ride evacuations, Medical Services new hire screening process, drug and alcohol screening, and job fairs.
  • Lead the Medical Services Team in treating injured/ill Hosts or Guests in emergency and non-emergency situations under the outlined standard of care, which is reviewed by the Dollywood Medical Director (See Medical Protocols). Assist and train in triage and/or park evacuations as needed.
  • Ensure the Medical Services Team provides accurate, clear, and concise documentation in written reports and maintains confidentiality of patient and Park information and follows HIPPA guidelines.
  • Review all Medical Services’ new hire screening forms, contacting Hosts whose forms are incomplete. If the items listed raise concern about their ability to safely perform job functions, inform the Supervisor.
  • Assist and serve as Unit 101 as scheduled.
  • Manage oxygen tanks, AEDs, and biohazard through an approved contracted vendor.
  • Maintain the following files that Medical Services may utilize:
  • a. Safety Critical Medication Disclosure form
  • b. Prescription Medication Forms
  • c. Doctor’s notes and permission to return to work forms
  • d. Permission to treat minor forms
  • e. Professional certifications and licenses
  • Order all medical, cleaning, and any other supplies including drug test kits while maintaining inventory and control.
  • Conduct monthly training and maintain records for the EMTA or Paramedics.

Management reserves the right to change and/or add to these duties at any time


Education and Experience Required

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Current TN State AEMT or Paramedic license required. Must provide copies of current certifications.
  • At least three years of field experience required as an AEMT or Paramedic.
  • Knowledge of and ability to use the equipment that Medical Services has is required.
  • Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
  • Basic computer skills required, including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint.
  • Ability to learn and utilize the online scheduling program (UKG) required.
  • At least one year’s experience as a full-time, year-round Dollywood Medical Services Team Member preferred.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Must have a valid TN Driver’s License with current automobile insurance and be able to drive company vehicles as required.
  • Must successfully complete a background check including motor vehicle and pre-employment drug screen.

  • Able to sit and/or stand for long/short periods.
  • Able to work outdoors.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, kneel, stoop, bend, reach high and low, twist and balance, negotiate elevated catwalks, walk, run, climb, and walk up and down steep inclines or steps.
  • Must be able to wear a full body fall protection harness & carry safety equipment to negotiate ride catwalks, lifts, platforms, and other areas necessary to complete ride and building evacuations at heights of up to 200 feet.
  • Must be able to move, carry, and/or lift equipment up to 25 lbs. alone.
  • Must be able to lift patients that may be over 200 lbs. with assistance from other Hosts.
  • Must have depth perception and adequate or corrected vision.
  • Must hold a valid TN Driver’s License with current automobile insurance and drive company vehicles as required.
  • Must be able to work in all types of weather including temperature extremes, rain, sleet, snow, low and high humidity, sunny, dusty, and dry conditions, and working around various allergens such as pollen.
  • Must be able to tolerate and use chemicals such as cleaning supplies.
