Job Title: Bartender
Reports To: Bar Manager / Food & Beverage Manager
Job Description:
The Bartender is responsible for preparing and serving drinks to guests in a friendly, efficient, timely, and professional manner, ensuring a positive guest experience while maintaining a clean and organized bar area.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Greet guests with a welcoming and friendly attitude.

Mix and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to recipes and guest requests.

Maintain a clean, well-groomed appearance, including proper uniform and name badge, following standards.

Accurately record drink orders and process payments using the POS system.

Ensure the bar area is clean, organized, and fully stocked with all necessary supplies, including glassware, garnishes, and mixers.

Monitor and maintain beverage inventory, restocking items as needed.

Complete full list of side work pre and post shift.

Follow all state, federal, and company guidelines for responsible alcohol service, including checking IDs to verify age.

Do not smoke, vape, or chew gum while on duty.

Return dishes to kitchen if not prepared according to standards.

Refuse service to guests who are intoxicated or acting inappropriately, notifying the Manager on Duty as necessary.

Keep bar equipment and tools clean and sanitized.

Engage with guests, making drink recommendations and answering questions about the menu.

Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of drink menus, daily specials, and food pairings.

Have in depth knowledge of menu and drink selections available to guests.

Handle guest complaints professionally, escalating issues to the Manager on Duty when needed.

Balance the cash register and prepare accurate end-of-shift reports.

Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including proper food and beverage handling procedures.

Assist servers with drink orders and support the dining room as needed, including taking tables..

Comply with Dolphin Hotel and River Street Inn policies at all times.

Complete or perform any additional tasks assigned by Restaurant or Hotel Management.
Necessary Skills and Attributes:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Knowledge of classic and contemporary cocktail recipes.

Education Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience:
1 to 2 years of experience in bartending or a similar role preferred.

Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will regularly be required to:

Stand for extended periods, walk, and use hands and arms to mix drinks.
