Certification Details BLS ACLS NIHSS Job Details A hospital in California is looking for an experienced Cardiac Stepdown RN for a travel assignment. The right candidate will have 2 years of experience. Job Requirements Hold an active BLS certification. Hold an active ACLS certification. Hold an active NIHSS certification. Hold an active California nursing license. Schedule Information Contract length : 13 weeks. Shifts : 7a-7p, 3p-3a, 7p-7a. Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend (Fri / Sat nights, Sat / Sun for days). Holidays : Every other holiday rotating. Unit Specific Information Floor specific orientation : 3 shifts on the unit. Additional Details Stepdown nurses needed, not med / tele. Unit : TCU- True Stepdown Unit - Telemetry, cardiac intervention unit and tele overflow. beds : 20 tele beds, 16 cardiac intervention beds and 8 overflow tele beds. Ratios : 1 : 3 or 1 : 4 based on acuity. EMR : Cerner. Charge Nurse : Yes run with no patients. Nurse Aides : Run 1 per every 12 patients; run 3 with full unit. Common diagnosis / Types of patients : Post cath patients both clean and interventions; post TEE, Post cardioversion, ablations, AICD, sometimes external temp pacer patients, sometimes transcutaneous pacing, chest tubes, tube feedings, lots of drains.
