Admissions Undergraduate Counselor
Dominican University New York is seeking an enthusiastic and student-focused Admissions Undergraduate Counselor to join our dynamic Admissions team. This role will primarily focus on recruiting and supporting transfer students, while also managing a small first-year undergraduate recruitment territory. This position requires evening and weekend work beyond the typical 35-hour work week, particularly during peak recruitment and event seasons.

Key Responsibilities:

Recruitment & Outreach
- Represent DUNY at college fairs, high school visits, and community college events.
- Develop relationships with prospective students, parents, school counselors, and community college advisors.
- Conduct information sessions, campus tours, and virtual presentations.

Application Management & Admissions Counseling
- Review and evaluate undergraduate applications for both transfer and first-year students.
- Counsel prospective students through the admissions process, including academic program selection, transfer credit evaluation, and financial aid resources.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of university programs, transfer agreements, and admissions policies.

Territory Management & Data Tracking
- Manage a designated recruitment territory and develop targeted outreach strategies.
- Utilize Slate CRM to track student engagement and follow up with inquiries, applicants, and admitted students.
- Work with Jenzabar SIS and Access PowerFAIDS to support admissions and financial aid processes.
- Analyze recruitment data to assess effectiveness and improve outreach efforts.

Collaboration & Events
- Partner with faculty, academic advisors, and student services staff to support prospective and incoming students.
- Assist in the planning and execution of open houses, admitted student events, and yield activities.
- Participate in professional development opportunities and stay informed on best practices in admissions and higher education.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required.
- 1-3 years of experience in higher education, admissions, or a related field preferred.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and public speaking skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends beyond the typical 35-hour work week, as needed.
- Willingness to travel extensively during recruitment seasons.
- Experience with Slate CRM, Jenzabar SIS, and Access PowerFAIDS is preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Valid driver’s license required.
