Project Coordinator – Building Capacities and Strengthening Communities (BCSC Program)

Dominican University New York’s Occupational Therapy Program is seeking a part-time Project Coordinator to support the grant funded program: “Building Capacities and Strengthening Communities”: Preparing a Diverse Workforce to Serve Children and Families” (BCSC).

This three (3) year grant-funded program requires 15 hours per week, for 47 weeks per year, with a flexible schedule.

Responsibilities will include coordinating meetings and logistics, ordering and managing project supplies, oversees invoicing, assisting with data collection, organizing the scheduling of the Pro Bono Mobile Clinic appointments, and serve as a liaison between families served and the OT Department.

Education and Experience:

Required: High School Diploma

Preferred: Associate or Bachelor’s degree

Required Skills:

  • Proficiency in MS Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, etc.).
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work with others professionally and courteously and as a productive team member.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills, with the ability to develop and maintain interpersonal relationships

Desired Skills:

  • Experience/knowledge of Occupational Therapy’s role with children and families of children with disabilities.
  • Experience/knowledge with invoicing and budget monitoring and adherence.
  • Experience in and/or sensitivity to the academic environment.
  • Experience in and/or sensitivity to persons from widely diverse backgrounds and life experiences (e.g., cultures, languages, socioeconomic status, education level, life events and trauma, etc.).
  • Fluently bilingual or multilingual in spoken and written understanding and expression. Fluency in Spanish is preferred, but not required.

Project Coordinator Duties:

  • Coordinate meetings and logistics for the BCSC Project Team and Advisory Board
  • Create and disseminate minutes of Project Team and Project Advisory Board meetings
  • Assist the Project Director and Co-Director with the collection of assessment data related to curricular and grant outcomes.
  • Order and manage project supplies.
  • Utilize and maintain systems to collect and keep required data for the grant.
  • Work with University’s Grants Administrator to oversee project budget processes as per University policies, procedures, and grant requirements.
  • Organize the scheduling of the Pro Bono Mobile Clinic appointments.
  • Serve as a communication liaison between organizations and families served, the Occupational Therapy Program, and the grant Project Team.
  • Available for occasional evening or weekend meetings as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
