JOB COMPONENTS//PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Keep record of on- and off-campus resources for immigrant students
- Build and maintain relationships with campus partners and community organizations
- Update internal website for immigrant student support
- Plan and implement educational programs for immigrant students and the greater campus community
- Coordinate communication on immigrant student support and resources with the communications and marketing team
- Assist CCL in coordinating immigrant competency trainings for students and campus community
- Be liaison to the Undocumented & Immigrant Alliance (on-campus student organization) and the Sanctuary Campus Subcommittee (SCS)
- Assist in coordinating fundraising opportunities for the Student Fund for Immigration Related Emergencies Applications (SFIRE)
- Assist with evaluation of immigrant student programs and services
- Serves on CCL planning committees, in collaboration with The Village and El Centro
- Provides 7 hours a week of in-person office hours
- Performs other duties as requested, delegated, or assigned
BASIC COMPETENCIES: (Required knowledge, skills, abilities)
- Strong coaching skills; ability to motivate and encourage students
- Ability to keep students’ confidentiality
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize in a changing environment and still meet deadlines
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal and follow-up skills
- Dynamic self-starter who takes initiative, highly reliable, and dependable
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Bilingual and bicultural skills preferred, but not required
- Basic computer skills: Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel
- Must be eligible for US employment
- Must be enrolled at least part-time as a degree-seeking undergraduate student at Dominican University.
