Job Summary
We are currently seeking a co-op for fall 2025 (with continuing co-op sessions in the spring of 2026 and summer of 2026) in the Corporate Nuclear Engineering and Fuel Department's Nuclear Core Design group located at Dominion's Innsbrook Technical Center in Glen Allen, VA. This position is for a co-op to work three consecutive terms.
Job Responsibilities
The Nuclear Core Design co-op may be responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties supporting Dominion's nuclear units :
- Performing reload core physics analyses
- Fuel management calculations
- Plant core follow, and startup testing support
- supporting the development of new neutronics codes and methods
Project assignments will be made based on completed coursework. Tasks will be mentored by experienced engineers.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
Ability to effectively operate a personal and workstation computer, including standard Microsoft applications. Programming skills are desirable.
Ability to define problems, collect information, evaluate data, draw valid conclusions, and develop solutions in a time-critical environment.
Ability to maintain a professional orientation, communicate effectively in both written and oral forms, and work effectively in team and independently under own initiative.
