Dominion National, a rapidly growing and leading provider of dental and vision benefits has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Vice President of Business Development.
The Vice President of Business Development will delegate effective administration and guide strategic direction of Operations. This role will direct and coordinate activities consistent with established goals, objectives and policies. Implements programs to ensure attainment of business plan for growth and profit. Provides direction and structure for operating units. Participates in developing policy and strategic plans.
Responsibilities and Qualifications
- Identifying and making direct contact with decision makers at target accounts and partnerships.
- Initiating, developing, and maintaining a strong working and professional relationship with health plan partners and their staff.
- Reviewing potential sales opportunities using sound underwriting judgment to determine the steps necessary to secure a long-term profitable relationship.
- Compiling and becoming familiar with healthcare reform, competitive information, and trends within the employee benefits industry.
- Working with the appropriate internal staff to develop proposals and presenting to prospects.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
The minimum qualifications for the ideal candidate include:
- Bachelor’s Degree (required). Master’s (preferred)
- Minimum of 8 years of proven management experience in health care industry.
- Minimum 5 years in Sales.
- Self-directed with leadership experience
- Must possess proficiencies in basic software applications, such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, and contact databases.
- Aptitude in political savvy, articulates eloquently, and possesses the ability to build consensus.
