The Program Manager (PM) at Dominique Dawes Gymnastics & Ninja Academy (DDGNA) is responsible for all operational and quality aspects of our program-delivery and coaching team that supports our core recreational gymnastics and Ninja fitness offerings. Reporting to the General Manager, this full-time, onsite role helps to ensure the successful execution of both our aforementioned core services and our special programs (e.g., camps, open gyms, and birthday parties), including helping to coordinate lesson plans, class schedules/rotations, and manage staff, all while maintaining high quality standards with an exceptional customer experience.
The PM plays an integral part in maintaining the fun, safe, and positive environment at DDGNA while also supporting the achievement of key performance indicators (KPIs) via the delivery of our services, including customer satisfaction and retention. In this way, the PM will assist in identifying opportunities to improve program offerings and customer experience, and will contribute to new initiatives that can help grow the business and enhance the participant experience. This position works closely with the GM and leadership team to ensure that class operations are running smoothly and effectively.
This role requires a proactive individual with strong organizational and communication skills who is passionate about delivering excellent service to children and families at DDGNA. The ideal candidate will have a mix of experience in operational, administrative, and customer-facing responsibilities in a gymnastics, dance, or other youth-facing program offering, and experience in the world of gymnastics – as a participant, as a coach, or both – is mandatory.

The PM works closely with the General Manager to ensure the success of all recreational, competitive, and special events, while helping drive positive participant and family experiences. The Program Manager will cover multiple locations across Greater Baltimore, including Clarksburg, Columbia and Rockville.

Job Responsibilities

Coaching Team Management:
- Own the scheduling, onboarding, and ongoing development of staff and coaches, including assisting with training and performance evaluations, ensuring that the team delivers high-quality instruction and customer service.
Curriculum, Lesson Plans, and Floor Scheduling:
- Work with the DDGNA leadership team to update curriculum, roll out timely lesson plans, coordinate program change-overs, and organize related floor scheduling and rotations.
- Ensure that classes and programs are running on time and according to the established schedule.
Customer Experience:
- Foster a welcoming, safe, and engaging training environment for children while also addressing program inquiries from parents, resolving customer concerns, and maintaining open communication about program updates and participant progress.
Program and Event Coordination:
- Collaborate with the GM, Special Events Manager, and other team members to assist with planning and managing camps, special events, birthday parties, and open gyms.
Facility and Safety Management:
- As a leader in the gym, you will help to monitor the cleanliness and safety of the facility, especially across the entire training floor, to ensure equipment and facilities are well-maintained. Assist with regular equipment safety audits, incident report follow-ups, and policy enforcement to ensure a safe environment for all participants and staff.
Operational Support:
- Collaborate with the General Manager to help support the overall day-to-day operations of the gym, including in-gym team leadership, engaging with parents, and other management-level duties as required to ensure that our programming and overall customer experience is aligned with DDGNA’s goals and meets our community’s needs.
Administrative Support:
- Help manage class enrollments, track participant data, and other administrative tasks as needed.
Collaboration with Leadership:
Work closely with the GM and other senior leaders to align on goals and support the overall success of DDGNA’s programs and operations. Attend regular team meetings and contribute to problem-solving and strategic planning discussions.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Strong Gymnastics knowledge and experience, either as a participant, as a coach, or both is required.
- Experience working in a gymnastics, children’s enrichment, fitness, or other health and wellness retails service business (swim schools, martial arts, youth training, etc.), with prior management or leadership experience preferred.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with a proven ability to manage time and handle multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with staff, families, and leadership.
- Ability to support a clean, safe, and inviting environment for participants and staff.
- Basic understanding of sales and business development within a health or fitness-based business is a plus.
- This position may require standing, lifting, and adjusting gymnastics and ninja equipment. The AGM may also be required to actively participate in gym activities with children, monitor coaches, and help with facility upkeep.
