Position Summary

The Insurance Accounting Administrator manages the day-to-day accounting and administrative tasks for property insurance claims. They investigate, evaluate, and settle claims in compliance with policies and regulations, while ensuring accurate documentation and timely communication with internal and external partners. The role includes reviewing policy details, maintaining claim files, handling coverage changes, and assisting in training new staff. Adherence to Dominium’s Insurance Accounting Policies and regular communication with insurance partners are key aspects of the role.

Essential Functions

  • Investigates, evaluates, and settles insurance claims in compliance with company policies and regulatory guidelines.
  • Reviews and manages policy details to determine coverage, and damages; and reviews property damage (PD) documentation.
  • Works with internal and external partners to ensure proper claim resolution.
  • Facilitates communication of claim details with both internal and external insurance partners, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
  • Ensures all invoices and back-up documentation for each claim as required.
  • Monitors and facilitate all correspondence through the risk department’s company email.
  • Creates and maintains claim files with all pertinent documentation, including acknowledgment letters, reports, invoices, payments, and correspondence.
  • Facilitates all property insurance coverage additions, deletions, and renewals.
  • Assists in training and development of new insurance accounting personnel.
  • Performs other authorized insurance functions necessary for effective department operations.
  • Handles additional projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Two (2) year accounting degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1 year of experience in Accounts Payable/Accounting. Valid Adjuster’s License preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook, accounting software experience preferred
  • Familiarity with Yardi and insurance financial reporting
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Above-average mathematical ability and reasoning skills
  • Experience reviewing and analyzing financial data
  • Experience in insurance accounting and claims reconciliation
  • Ability to work with personnel at all levels in a team environment to achieve business solutions

PAY: $50,000-$53,000/year 5% bonus eligibility
