POSITION SUMMARY :
The IT Data Engineer will design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and robust data models. This role is critical in ensuring that data from various source systems, including SQL Server databases, APIs, and Excel spreadsheets on SharePoint is efficiently ingested, transformed, and made available for analytics and reporting. The ideal candidate will have experience working with Azure, Snowflake, Python, Terraform, dbt, SQL Server, and Power BI. This role will support data-driven decision-making across the organization by enabling high-quality, well-structured data models and warehouse solutions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- Designs, develop, and maintain automated data pipelines to extract and load data from various sources including SQL Server, APIs, and SharePoint-hosted Excel files into Snowflake.
- Optimizes data ingestion for scalability, performance, and reliability.
- Designs and implement dbt models in Snowflake to support analytics and reporting.
- Collaborates with business users and analytics teams to create efficient, well-structured data models.
- Ensures data integrity, consistency, and quality across ingestion pipelines and transformation layers.
- Manages infrastructure and deployments using Terraform.
- Automates data orchestration and monitoring to improve system resilience.
- Works closely with BI teams to ensure Power BI reports leverage optimized Snowflake models.
- Assist in migrating Power BI reports to new data models, improving performance and maintainability.
- Implements data validation, monitoring, and security best practices.
- Ensures compliance with data governance policies, including access control and privacy requirements.
- Additional projects as assigned.
