The Position:
Client: Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission (F&B)
Position Title: F&B - Network Engineer NE2 (761498)
Location: Hybrid; Remote Off-Site and On-Site in Harrisburg, PA
Duration: Initial term through 06/30/2025 ( Annual Renewal in 1-Year Terms)
Note: Position will be hybrid after two weeks, at agency's discretion. A minimum of two days per week on-site is required. On-site work will be located at the agency s Harrisburg Headquarters at 1601 Elmerton Ave, Harrisburg, PA with available and free parking.
Note: Candidates must currently reside in Pennsylvania within a reasonable commuting distance (2-hours/100-miles) of Harrisburg PA to be considered.
The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission is seeking a Network Engineer to assist the network and security team with network, security, server maintenance, and support for local area networks, metropolitan area networks, and private cloud environment. The successful applicant must be capable of meeting or exceeding challenging deadlines while performing daily duties that will include;
- Build, maintain, and troubleshoot physical and virtual servers.
- Ensure current patch level maintained on servers.
- Assists in investigation and mitigation of security incidents.
- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot physical (Cisco) and distributed virtual switches (VMware).
- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot routers (Cradlepoint).
- Monitors the team s open backlog of support issues.
- Work towards departmental and project deadlines.
- Document and present recommendations for issue/risk remediation to team leads and managers.
The Preferred Skills and Experience:
- 2 Years: VMware vSphere
- 3 Years: Server Administration (Windows / VMware)
- 2 Years: Microsoft System Center Ops Manager is desired
- 2 Years: Microsoft Endpoint Config Manager is desired
- 1 Years: Nessus by Tenable is desired
- 2 Years: Cisco Networking is desired
- 1 Years: Firewall Administration is desired
- 1 Years: Linux Administration is desired
