Duties
- Prepare and present sushi dishes according to the restaurant's menu and standards.
- Select and source high-quality ingredients for sushi preparation, ensuring freshness and flavor.
- Execute precise knife skills for cutting fish, vegetables, and other ingredients.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service and efficient kitchen operations.
- Assist in menu planning, offering creative ideas for new sushi rolls and dishes.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety regulations.
- Provide exceptional customer service by engaging with guests about menu items and recommendations.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in sushi preparation techniques.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role within the food industry.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, particularly in sushi making.
- Excellent knife skills with attention to detail in presentation.
- Experience in fine dining settings is preferred.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- A passion for culinary arts and commitment to delivering high-quality dishes.
- Knowledge of dietary restrictions and ability to accommodate various dietary needs is a plus.
